Anna Somershaf

Anna Somershaf is an Israeli documentary filmmaker and producer, born in Moscow and immigrated to Tel-Aviv in her childhood. "Women of Valor" is her first feature length documentary as a director. Her previous projects as a director include "Jihad Now" (a TV series about Global Jihad) and "Holyland" (about a Ghanaian Pastor of migrant workers in Tel Aviv). As a producer Anna completed “Shai K.” by Ari Davidovich; "Mixed Feelings", by the Emmy award winner Guy Davidi and "Women of Valor". She worked on international award winning documentaries such as "Advocate" (Rachel Leah Jones & Philippe Bellaiche), "In His Image" (by Tami Ravid for EO, IDFA), "Disturbing the Peace" (by Steve Apkon for Netflix) and produced the "Greenhouse" Project. Anna graduated with honors from Sapir film school (BFA), participated in an International program at "La Femis" film school in Paris, and completed MA in cultural studies in Tel Aviv University.
