Much has been written and filmed about the border crossings between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, the injustices done to a large population who want to enter Israel to work and bring home bread, the overcrowding, poor conditions and long waiting times, as well as the danger of a terrorist who harms soldiers traumatizing the military service and in need of psychological treatment.
This is the first time a large spotlight has illuminated the Israeli soldier at the most explosive checkpoints in the Jerusalem area. Only yesterday they graduated high school, and today they are required to exercise discretion. A small match may ignite the area and cause a world riot. And yet there is a desire to produce the edge of a real and moral way.
