Refuge follows day-to-day life in three shelters for domestic violence victims: Mixed (secular), religious/Haredi and Arabic. The film portrays a year in the life of the women residents and shelter staff. It documents a feminine togetherness which, in spite of tough circumstances, produces an empowering, stimulating and inspiring incubator.
